Overhead Crane Hoists

Overhead crane hoists allow businesses to easily lift, lower, and position heavy objects. Powered by hand, electricity, or air, an overhead crane provides improved load control. High-capacity engineering allows operators to effortlessly transport and maneuver heavy materials through your overhead space, delivering them exactly where they’re needed.

With configurations designed to fit high and low ceilings, overhead crane hoists are a versatile solution for a wide range of environments. Backed by Global Crane’s full service installation and maintenance, overhead hoists are a powerful and efficient solution for any industry handling large, oversized objects, including mills, foundries, shipyards, power plants, warehouses, as well as machine and fabrication shops.

Lifting Equipment

No matter what type of material you’re working with, Global Crane offers the right lifting medium for all crane applications.

Cable Hoists

Using wires made from heavy metal fibers, cable hoists are capable of lifting loads up to 30,000 pounds faster and higher than chain hoists. Their strength makes them both highly versatile and resistant to wear and tear, which is why they are one of the most popular options for manufacturing, warehousing, storage, and transportation facilities that require heavy lifting on a regular basis.

Electric Chain Hoists

Durable, compact, and quiet, electric chain hoists let operators lift and move heavy loads smoothly, without swinging, swaying, or jerking. Easy to handle and service, they reduce the time necessary to raise and position heavy materials. Ideal for applications that require positive load engagement at multiple lift points. Compatible with jib cranes, workstation cranes, and overhead cranes.

Chain Hoists

Suitable for lifting operations under 5 tons, chain hoists raise objects by pulling the chain link by link through a set of rotating sprockets and depositing it into a basket or container. Compact and durable, chain hoists are easy to move and can withstand years of heavy use. Lift height can be easily adjusted by swapping out the chain.

Air Hoists

Powered entirely through pneumatic pressure, air hoists (also known as pneumatic hoists) provide smooth, uninterrupted movement and precise load control. Their unique design allows for continuous duty cycles. Well-suited to remote environments without reliable electricity, as well as potentially explosive areas requiring spark-free operations. With few moving parts, they are a low-maintenance device ideal for applications in harsh conditions with dirt, water, humidity, and extreme temperatures.

Manual Hoists

Use a hand-operated hoist to gain mechanical leverage over heavy objects. A good choice for locations that require occasional lifting, where speed is not a major concern. Their compact design allows them to function in spaces with limited headroom, in applications where electricity isn’t needed or available. Simple construction allows for easy inspection, maintenance, and cleaning.

Electric Hoists

Powered by an electric motor that lifts and lowers heavy loads quickly, smoothly, and efficiently. Though its duty cycle is limited, electric hoists have a large load capacity that significantly increases output and productivity. Responsive controls and versatile design provides smooth and precise handling, allowing operators to move objects both horizontally and vertically. With regular inspection and maintenance, electric hoists can last for years in even the most demanding environments. Moreover, hazardous duty motors and spark resistant components are available that allow them to function safely in dangerous conditions.

Pneumatic Hoists

Utilize a rotary or piston motor powered by compressed air, which allows it to run continuously without risk of overheating – a necessary feature for businesses with high duty cycles. The lightweight motor is easier to install, operate, and maneuver, and its unique design offers progressive acceleration, smooth motion, and variable speed, for easy and accurate positioning with no initial jerk on activation. With fewer moving components, pneumatic hoists are also incredibly durable and resistant to both dust and humidity.
